We’re almost to the end and it feels quite bum that the worship always gets cut off when its on high. I’m starting to enjoy some of their new songs like; “You’ll Come“, “You’re Here“, “Desert Song”, “This is our God“, “With Everything” (This song is anthemic man!). Not so much the fast one though (as usual).
The morning session had Joyce Meyer talking about change and transitions. It certainly reinforced so much of my feelings and even helped to put into light some of the systems thinking and fifth discipline logic. Its all common sense but many don’t have that gift! In the afternoon sessions, it was quite cool to see Joyce Meyer’s son, David Meyer talk about the practical considerations to doing missions work and how to do work in new environments. He devoted half the session for an informal chit chat with his family and an insight to how they worked in the ministry together. I love it when they share the real problems instead of making it all so peachy and nice. Family, work and ministry altogether is one hard thing to do! The other afternoon session introduced the term “Servolution”. What a phrase and more amazing is the way Dino Rizzo’s church has worked in his community to make a difference. He gave really practical and useful ideas and projects to do in our own communiites. All of which have been tried and some failed by his church. Of course the disclaimer was “One man’s medicine is another’s poison”.
The night service was quite good and I didn;t fall asleep this time. We wisened up and bought tickets, something we should have done from the beginning. Marcos Witt is an amazing speaker and musician with grammies under his belt. Joseph Prince spoke again and it was puzzling to hear him teach a bible study session for a sermon. Leeland rocked the place up and once again, powered up the second service with his rendition of Angus Dei.
Its been four days since I had a proper meal with proper metal utensils!
