My brain is officially full. I’ve attended so many sessions, read so many posters and talked to people. The sessions are wonderful, just that some presenters make it harder to follow than others. Did you catch the bullet-train speaker? Or the inaudible murmurer? How about the chinese dude that has a fixed answer for questions asked? Well, I guess that is what makes this all interesting.
I also managed to sneak into the Nutrition talks. There was one about green tea and effects on immune modulation, another talked about PGE2 and IL6 production. The rest of the session I attended focused on IL17, Treg and Th17 cells. These are hot topics now and with current tools, we’ve learnt so much about them within the last 5 years than with the original Th cells 20 years ago. The distinguished speaker at the end of the day was pretty funny with movies to lightened up the mood of the hour long talked. There was also a pretty funny and entertaining talk. I also took the time to sign up for AAI membership. Figured it be easier to do so now, in person.
Managed to have dinner with my supervisor. Finding him at the conference is as hard as finding an antigen specific naive T-cell in a mouse. We went to the beach at Coronda Island for a walk and discussed some of the impressions of the conference and new ideas. Then we had dinner at Little Italy and managed to catch a glimpse of fireworks while leaving the restaurant.
Tomorrow is my poster session. I doubt many people will come along. And I am so tired from all the listening and note taking. Time to sleep now, but after the new episode of Medium is over.
